Complete Superfoods

Brief

  • To develop an eCommerce website for Complete Superfoods, an Irish Retailer and Wholesaler of Organic Superfoods
  • Enable the sale of their products online initially through Paypal with the ability to add on-site payments in future
  • Create the site with a natural looking design, with natural colours and layout
  • Focus on ease of use from both front and back-end, to aid with easy addition, deletion and editing of products
  • Use homepage to provide an introduction to superfoods and the company but with a main purpose of directing users towards the services provided by the site; The Sale of Organic Superfoods and Detailing the Ability to purchase Wholesale quantities of these Superfoods

Process

  • Gather all available information from the client, breaking it down into clear sections and functional elements
  • Wireframe site using Firefox Pencil Project plugin and provide designer with wireframe pdfs
  • Send all imagery provided by client to designer and have a meeting about the aesthetic of the site
  • Due to the site's less demanding functional specification, Wordpress Content Management System was chosen for development. This CMS has a very clear and accessible back-end which will improve the client's usage of the site
  • Wordpress plugins were then selected with eShop being chosen for the eCommerce functionality on the site
  • Client's hosting account was then set-up and configured along with purchase of the required domain names. Wordpress and selected plugins were then installed
  • Site content was then added to it's distinct sections and product information was added following the configuration of the eShop plugin
  • A child theme of twenty ten base theme was then created for the design and theming of the site and graphic elements provided by the designer were used within this child theme
  • Testing was then carried out for the purchase of products using Paypal Sandbox
  • Changes from the testing phase were then carried out and the site was prepared for release
